I have a passion for bringing awareness to dyslexia and certifying teachers in the OG Approach.
I have a bachelor’s degree in special education along with my Administrative Credential, and Certifications in dyslexia and autism.
I am the founder of Close the Gap, where I train teachers how to teach students with dyslexia using the OG Approach so that together we can close the reading achievement gap.
As a professional with dyslexia (diagnosed at age 35) and a mother to two children diagnosed, I deftly navigate each perspective and problem of student, parent, teacher, and administrator on the IEP team
Brain has over 12 years' experience working as a school psychologist in public schools. He has his Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Educational Psychology and his bachelor's from the University of Utah.
In addition to being a Licensed Education Psychologist, he is also Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and tis an Adjunct Professor at Fresno State. His areas of interest involve academic interventions to increase academic skills and using data to drive intervention success.
